
Karin Huber-Levy
JJDPC, San Mateo County
Karin Huber-Levy is Vice Chair of the Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention Commission of San Mateo County, advocating for programs and services to keep youth out of the juvenile justice system, and providing citizens’ oversight of the administration of juvenile justice law in San Mateo County. As a Commissioner, Karin has worked on projects to support high quality, affordable and accessible after school programs, alternatives to youth incarceration, and equitable access to diversion programs.
After graduating with a JD from the University of Windsor, Faculty of Law (Canada), Karin began her legal career practicing corporate, commercial and securities law in the Toronto, Canada and London, UK offices of Blake, Cassels & Graydon LLP, ultimately transitioning to in-house practice as General Counsel and Corporate Secretary for a major pharmaceutical corporation. She has lived and worked in Canada, the UK, Germany, and the US, and has a deep respect and affinity for engaging with diverse groups and cultures.
As a community volunteer over the past 20 years, she has focused primarily on working with and advocating for students and is committed to supporting access to education and development opportunities for all youth. This core interest and experience led to her focus on advocating for youth who come in contact with the juvenile justice system, in particular to ensure they are provided access to high quality education opportunities.
